Asian Leadership Conference

“Providing Vision and Leadership for NationBuilding and Peace”

July 19 – 22, 2019   ◊   Bangkok, Thailand

Conference Report

The largest 3-day Asian Leader Conferences (ALC) recently concluded in Bangkok, Thailand, July 19-21, 2019. Ninety-six participants came from 11 nations. This was also the first time we had representation from all five recently announced sub-regions within the Asia Pacific regional group.

Dr. Ronachit Phutthala, Chief District Officer of Kalasin (retired), Thailand, has been the most successful person for organizing Heavenly Tribal Messiah family festivals anywhere in the world (photo below). He has hosted and personally participated in over 87 HTM family festivals with a total number of 22,000 participants. Over 7,000 couples have completed the 3-day ceremony.

On the second day of the ALC, Dr. Ronachit gave an engaging testimony entitled, “In the Role of Regional and Local Government Administration: How to Build Peace and Happiness in Community According to Father Moon’s Principle of Peace.” He said, that Thai families have benefited so much from Father and Mother Moon’s interfaith family festivals. They worked with government and educated thousands of husbands and wives to be good couple, good parent and good citizens.

The largest number of delegates attending the ALC, 45, came from Cambodia. However, the highest-level delegation came from Thailand which also had the second largest number of participants, 21. Among the Thai delegates were three generals, one current Member of Parliament (recently elected), former governors, university presidents, a parliament secretary, district officers, social workers and a Buddhist monk.

Conference participants came from: Australia (2), Thailand, (21), Philippines (3), Nepal (3), Malaysia (3), Myanmar (1), Indonesia (8), Kazakhstan (3), China (5), Hong Kong (2), Cambodia (45).

As always, the program concluded with an interfaith peace blessing where participants rededicated their marriages for a higher purpose for “nation-building and peace.”

I am so grateful for our Cambodian delegates to join this meaningful conference. As a representative of our Cambodian delegates I am really thankful to UPF organizing committee for holding this seminar. Each presentation is very, very important for all of us, whatever our nationality.

Cambodia, H.E. Pok Nady,
Deputy Governor of Banteay Meanchey Province

Thank you for inviting me to this ALC conference. I am the Chairman of one of the women’s organizations in Indonesia (founded by H.E. Jusuf Kalla, Vice-President of Indonesia) and am committed to the implementation of the contents of this material, especially about true love and the need to sacrifice for our families, society and nations. This can really establish world peace, according to Father Moon’s principle of peace.

Indonesia, Ms Vicky Kartiwa,
Chairman, Perempuan Jenggala

I handle 42,045 Barangaies all over the Philippines. That is the smallest political unity of our government (like a precinct). My three days stay here have had a great and big turnaround on my belief. It is a great honor and privilege to represent Philippines in this momentous celebration of peace. On behalf of the participating countries, we want to thank you Dr. Yong for gathering us here and for being a channel of peace by providing vision and leadership for nation-building and peace. To the other organizers, and to Father Moon in heaven and to Mother Moon on earth, you have been a blessing to all of us.

Philippines, Hon. Martin B. Dino, Undersecretary,
Dept of Interior & Local Government

I jumped at the chance to attend this program. Let me make three points: 1) the most important part of a conference, i.e. the organizing or managing the conference, is the threshold and will indicate if this will be an enjoyable program or an ordeal. Your organizing team members are excellent, excellent. 2) In terms of the content. I felt the presenters knew exactly what we are here for. Again, an excellent performance. We are appreciative of what’s we’ve learned. We know exactly what we are supposed to do and are willing to do it. 3) All my life, I’ve been a teacher or an educationist. I thank you for the wonderful knowledge, skills and perspectives we have gained from this conference. How can we expand this? How do we persuade others to be exposed to something excellent like this? In this way, we can make our family, society and better and create international peace. Please do more. Speed up the process and made nations better places to life.

Thailand, Dr. Pradit Chatcharatkoon,
Former University President
